Australian Formula Ford Round 1 was held at Morgan Park Raceway from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 March 2023. Kyle Evans was the only privateer competing in the event. Friday was purely a practice day on the track. Saturday commenced with compulsory drivers brief at 7:45am followed by 20 minute qualifying session and Race 1 compiled of 15 lap session.
Kyle Evans drove his Duratec Powered Spectrum up to 8th place out of 24 competitors in qualifying with his fastest lap time of 1:18.424 with a difference of .824 to P1 in the 20 minute session.
Race 1 - Event 6 was a 15 lap race. Warwick registered at 1:20pm while gridding up for Race 1 a scorching temperature of 33 degrees. Kyle had difficulty during Race 1 with 3rd gear and dropped back from 8th to 10th position. During Event 13 Kyle received a fastest lap of 1:18.205.
Sunday Race 2 - Event 19 Kyle progressed up from10th Kyle up to 8th position with a 1:18.205 during the 12 lap race.
The final race for the weekend was Race 3 with 18 lap race Kyle registered a 1:18.888 fastest lap on lap 4 with a difference of .0248 behind the leader. Kyle completed race 3 in 7th position.
Kyle Evans finished the weekend in 7th position overall for the weekend securing 23 points out of 24 competitors.
