Project Cars

This is a glimpse of the three project cars which Kyle Evans and his Dad, Brett Evans have worked on together, forming a strong father-son bond relationship since Kyle turned 13 years old.  This experience has given Kyle an in depth knowledge on the basics of car maintenance, how to conduct a wheel alignment, change a tyre and how the car reacts to different changes made to the cars.  Two of the project cars would eventually become vehicles that Kyle would compete on the race track.

The first car Kyle purchased was a Track Attack purpose built Hyundai Excel 1500cc car which was purchased for racing purely at Queensland Raceway which required a lot of work to prepare it to be safe condition prior to competing.

The second car Kyle Evans purchased was a CAMS - Hyundai Excel 1500cc which had a different setup to meet the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport regulations.  Kyle competed in the Black Hyundai no 34 at his home track Morgan Park Raceway and secured a lap record on Sunday 23 September 2018.  It was the third time Kyle was on the track recording a 1:33965 on the 3 km circuit K at just 14 years old at the Warwick District Sporting Car Club - Sprint Race Meet.

Kyle also achieved a personal goal of a podium position at the age of 14 in the CAMS Round 2 State Championship on Sunday 30 June 2019 against 23 experienced competitors in his CAMS Hyundai Excel no 34.  Kyle achieved a 3rd place podium position.  Kyle has sold this vehicle to move up to Formula Ford.

The third project car is a 1973 Ford Escort Mark 1 which was purchased as Kyle Evans first road car.  The car had quite a lot of rust.  Therefore the car needed to be stripped down the the bare shell before commencing the restoration.
