Tribute to Mr Alf Capri - Alf Capri Engines
Our love and condolences go to Alf Capri’s soulmate, wife and life partner Maureen Capri and family during this extremely difficult time. Alf Capri touched the hearts of many families in the Karting community and will be deeply missed.
We first met Alf Capri in 2015 at the Warwick Kart Club - Qld Junior Top Guns race meet. Kyle was 11 years old. Alf was the Scrutineer for the event and Kyle’s very first time driving a 2 stroke kart. Kyle was shy and Alf Capri was very welcoming, considerate, kind, knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of the kart with us and a great sense of humour.
Alf and Maureen were volunteers at most Karting Qld events and we shared many treasured moments and photos at Warwick, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Mackay, Rockhampton and Cooloola.   Alf Capri a respected gentleman in the Motorsport community with a wealth of knowledge to share, welcoming, inspirational, encouraging, supportive, giving and eager to see the younger generation learn, develop and grow.
We are devastated, deeply saddened and still in shock over the news of Alf’s passing away.   It has been an honour to know you. We will cherish the moments we shared together. You touched our hearts and will have a very special place in our hearts forever.
Alf Capri was one of the founding members of Karting Qld in 1958. A life member of Karting Australia, Karting Queensland, Warwick Kart Club and Ipswich Kart Club.   In 2019 Alf Capri was the recipient of the spirit of Speed Volunteer of the year.
Alf Capri passed away on Sunday 18 July 2021.
Alf’s funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday 27 July will be limited to family and friends, live-streamed by KM Smith Funerals.
